Peonies Boutique Weddings is a Hunter Valley wedding design studio specialising in wedding planning, floral design, styling and bespoke stationery. Founded by Darlene Vanderkemp in 2007, Peonies has spent almost two decades creating beautifully considered celebrations throughout the Hunter Valley and surrounding regions.
Our approach brings the visual and practical elements of a wedding together under one cohesive design. From florals, tablescapes and draping to stationery, RSVP websites and detailed wedding planning, every element is considered as part of the whole. We work closely with our couples and trusted wedding professionals to create celebrations that feel personal, refined and beautifully resolved — from the first design concept through to the wedding day.

LUXURIOUS FLORALS
Floral design is at the heart of Peonies. From considered bouquets and abundant tablescapes to large-scale installations and statement floral features, each element is designed as part of the wider celebration. Working with premium seasonal flowers and botanicals sourced through trusted growers and suppliers, we create florals with depth, movement and beautiful attention to colour, proportion and scale. Every design is considered in relation to the venue, styling and surrounding environment, creating a floral story that feels cohesive from ceremony through to reception.
Styling & Design
Beautiful weddings aren’t created by collecting beautiful things, They’re created when every element works together. We approach each celebration as a considered whole, bringing together draping, linens, tablescapes, candles, signage, stationery and carefully selected styling details to create an environment that feels cohesive, layered and beautifully resolved. Our styling is developed alongside the wider wedding design, allowing colour, texture, proportion and detail to flow naturally throughout the celebration. Custom pieces and considered finishing touches give each wedding an identity of its own, creating spaces that feel personal to our couples rather than simply decorated. Styling is available as part of a Peonies-designed celebration, with additional styling services quoted according to the scope and requirements of each wedding.
Wedding PLANNING
From the first ideas through to the final moments of the wedding day, our planning approach brings clarity, structure and creative direction to the entire celebration. We work closely with our couples to develop the overall vision, source and manage trusted suppliers, oversee budgets, coordinate logistics, prepare detailed floor plans and production schedules, manage timelines and bring every moving piece together behind the scenes. Whether you require Full Wedding Planning from the beginning or Partial Planning to support the final stages of your wedding, we tailor our involvement to suit your celebration. To ensure every celebration receives the level of care and attention our couples expect, wedding day coordination is offered exclusively as part of our planning services.
bespoke STATIONERY
Our in-house design studio creates bespoke stationery, signage and wedding RSVP websites as an extension of the wedding itself. From invitations and save-the-dates through to personalised RSVP websites, menus, place cards, seating plans, welcome signage and custom day-of pieces, each element is designed to carry the visual language of the celebration from the first impression through to the wedding day. Colour, typography, texture and material are considered alongside the florals and styling, allowing every element to feel connected to the wider design rather than something added at the end.

Every Peonies wedding begins with understanding the celebration you are creating. When you enquire, we ask for as much detail as possible about your wedding date, venue, guest numbers, style and the services you are considering. From there, we can determine availability and prepare an initial proposal tailored to your celebration.
Once your booking is confirmed, the creative process begins. Depending on the services you have chosen, we develop the floral direction, styling, stationery and broader wedding design alongside the practical planning required to bring everything together. Floor plans, supplier coordination, timelines and design details are developed progressively, allowing the celebration to evolve as decisions are made.
Throughout the process, we work closely with our couples and their chosen wedding professionals so every element feels connected rather than considered in isolation. As the wedding approaches, the details are refined, logistics confirmed and the final design brought together ready for installation and celebration.
From the first conversation to the final room reveal, our role is to make the process feel considered, organised and beautifully cohesive.
